Mr. Donald L. Gilmore

 

Donald L. Gilmore is the former senior editor of Combat Studies Institute and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College Press at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, where he worked for seventeen years. He is also a veteran of the U.S. Army Signal Corps. 

He is the author of Civil War on the Missouri-Kansas Border, The U.S. Army Atlas of the European Theater in World War II, and Eyewitness Vietnam: First hand Accounts from Operation ROLLING THUNDER to the Fall of Saigon. Mr. Gilmore is also author of several articles and authoritative essays that have been published in History Today, Journal of the West, and Wild West. Additionally, he contributed ten biographical essays for the Historical Dictionary of the U.S. Army. Mr. Gilmore is a well-known and sought out speaker and lecturer on issues related to the War Between the States, and is considered an authority on the war on the Missouri border. Mr. Gilmore is currently working on a book titled Eyewitness World War II: The March Against Hitler.

Directions

Osceola is located about 50 miles north of Springfield, Mo on Highway 13. It is about 17 miles South of Clinton. Driving north on 13 from Osceola, after you cross the Truman Lake arm, look for the Osceola Cheese Factory on the right. Turn right on Old Hwy 13 and follow the road to the left to the First Assemblies of God Church.
